Elections in West Bengal:
The State can elect 42 Lok Sabha members during the Lok Sabha Elections. The Rajya Sabha members are selected by the members of the State Legislature. Around 16 members from the State constitute the Rajya Sabha. 295 seats are allocated to the West Bengal Assembly Constituency and the members are elected by the people of the State.

Mr. SunilKumar Gupta is the Chief Electoral Officer of West Bengal. He was made the CEO on 31st March, 2010. He belongs to West Bengal cadre and in 1987, he secured the post of the Indian Administrative Officer.
He had his B.E program at Indian Institute of Technology, Kanpur and had his post graduation in M.SC in the State University of New York at Buffalo.

Form 6-On-line Registration:
1. Open the link for form 6 as mentioned above.
2. Click on the Forms tab on the top of the window.
3. Select the Roll Revision and press the highlighted English link beside the Inclusion of name-Form 6.
4. Form 6 is now opened. Download the form.
5. Stick your photograph of size 3.5 cm x 3.5 cm.
6. Enter the Applicant’s details such as Name, Surname in block letters and age as on 1st January.
7. Give the Date of Birth in years and months.
8. Under the place of birth, you are asked to provide the Village/Town, District and State where you were born.
9. You should also write down your father’s/Mother’s/Husband’s Name and Surname.
10. House/ Door No, Street/Area/Locality/Mohalla/Road, Town / Village, Post Office, Tehsil/Taluka/Mandal/Thana , District and Pincode are asked under the particulars of the ordinary residence.
11. If the applicants’ relation’s names are already present in the Electoral Roll, then give their name, relation type, serial number and part number of the constituency and finally their EPIC (Elector’s photo Identity Card)card number.
12. Complete the declaration appropriately. If your name has already been included in the Electoral Roll, then type the Assembly Constituency and the State, where it was first provided.
13. Enter the address, Elector’s Photo Identity Card Number and the Date of issue of the card.
14. It is necessary to sign or put a thumb impression of the applicant on the form,place and date.
15. It is optional to enter the Mobile number/E-mail and Aadhaar number if issued.
16. After filling the form, submit the form to the Email Address provided on the website.
17. Later you can furnish your Age Proof and Address Proof documents to the Electoral Registration Officer (ERO) personally.
Form 6-Offline Registration:
1. Get the Form 6 from the links above.
2. Click on the Forms tab on the top of the window.
3. Select the Roll Revision and press the highlighted English link beside the Inclusion of name-Form 6.
4. Form 6 is now opened. Download the form.
5. Fill in the required details as mentioned above and submit the form along with the Age Proof and Address Proof documents to the Electoral Registration Officer nearby to your locality.
Form 7-On-line Registration:
1. Open the CEO West Bengal site.
2. Click on the Forms tab on the top of the window.
3. Select the Roll Revision and press the highlighted English link beside the Objection to inclusion of Name- Form 7.
4. Form 7 is now opened. Download the form.
5. You can either fill the form for yourself or for any other known person.
6. Select the appropriate alternative mentioned before filling the form. The first alternative is suitable for the preparation of the Electoral Roll and the second one after the publication of the Electoral Roll.
7. Give the details of the person whose name is to be deleted: Name, Surname, Part number of Electoral Roll in which his/her name is included, His/her serial number in that part and Elector’s photo identity card (if issued) number.
8. Details of the objector are also to be provided: Name, Surname, Sex (male/female), Part number of Electoral Roll in which objector’s name is included, His/Her serial number in that part, Father’s / Mother’s / Name Husband’s Name and Surname (if any).
9. House/Door number, Street/Area/Locality/Mohalla/Road, Town/Village, Post Office, Pin Code, Tehsil/Taluka/Mandal/Thana, District of the person seeking deletion or Objector are to be given.
10. Reason for the objection field is compulsory to be filled.
11. Fill the declaration form such as the signature or thumb impression of the applicant. It is optional to enter the Mobile number/E-mail and Aadhaar number if issued.
12. After filling the form, submit the form to the Email Address provided on the website.
Form 7-Offline Registration:

4. Form 8 is now opened. Download the form.
5. Enter the applicant’s details such as Name, Surname, Part number of Electoral Roll, Serial number in that part, Age as on 1st January, Sex (Male/Female),Date of birth, Father’s/ Mother’s / Name Husband’s Name and Surname.
6. House/Door number, Street/Area/Locality/Mohalla/Road, Town/Village, Post Office, Pin Code, Tehsil/Taluka/Mandal/Thana, District of the person are to be given.
7. The details of the Elector’s Photo Identity Card Number and the Constituency’s Name are to be filled up.
8. Tick the appropriate entry to be corrected and strike out the remaining: My name / Age / Father’s / Mother’s / Husband’s name / Sex / Address / Electors’ photo identity card number.

7. Passport details to be filled are: Passport Number, Place of Issue of current Indian Passport, Date of Issue of current Indian passport, Date of expiry of current Indian passport..
8. Visa Details such as Visa Number, Type of Visa (Single Entry/Multiple Entry/Tourist/Work Visa etc.), Date of issue of Visa, Place of issue of Visa, Date of expiry of Visa, Name of the Issuing Authority are to be provided.
9. It is mandatory to mention the reason for absence from India and the date from which the absence occurred.
10 The form also enquires the details of your residence outside India and the official address of the place of the Employment or the Educaional Institution.
11. Fill the declaration and submit the form to the mail address mentioned in the website.
To view the Electoral Roll:
1. Open the link http://www.ceowestbengal.nic.in/Index.aspx
2. Click on the Electoral Roll (Voter list) on the left panel of the window or select the Citizen services tab on the top of the window and click on the Electoral Roll (Voter list).
3. The districts present in the state are displayed.
4. Select your District by clicking on it.
5. It then takes you to the Assembly Constituencies of the State.
6. Click on the desired one to view the Electoral Roll.
To search your name on the Electoral Roll:
1. Open the link http://www.ceowestbengal.nic.in/Index.aspx.
2. Click the Search Your Name in the Voter list tab. Select the Citizen services tab on the top of the window and click on the Search Your Name in the Voter list tab.
3. You will be redirected to another page.
4. Select the drop-down list box of the Search by category and click on the one that suits you.
5. Select either District-wise or State-wise under another Search by category.
6. If you select the Name radio button under the Search by category, you have to enter your name and the relation name you have given in the form.
7. If EPIC No is selected, then type your EPIC No.
8. Press the Search button.
