Upcoming Assembly Elections 2016 – Tamil Nadu:

In Tamil Nadu there are 234 assembly constituencies and 39 Lok Sabha constituencies. The state has conducted 14 assembly elections and 15 Lok Sabha elections since independence.

The last Assembly Election took place in April 2011, which resulted in AIADMK (Anna Dravida Munnetra Kazhagam) and its allies winning. Jayalalithaa is elected CM for the third time.

When are the Next Assembly Elections planned?

The Next Assembly Election will be conducted by Election commission of India for Tamil Nadu state possibly in May 2016 for the 234 seats of the Vidhan Sabha. The dates of the election are yet to be announced but Assembly Election 2016 – Tamilnadu might take place sometime in May–June 2016

When does the Current Tenure Expire?

The tenure of fourteenth Assembly of Tamil Nadu which was held in 2011 will end in May 22, 2016.

Upcoming Assembly Elections 2016 – West Bengal

The last Assembly Election held in 2011 for all the 294 seats of the Vidhan Sabha and the Trinamool Congress won with the majority of seats. The Assembly Election also marked the defeat of the longest-serving democratically elected Communist government with ending of 34-year rule of the Left Front government. Mamata Banerjee who is the Chief Minister of West Bengal and leader of Trinamool Congress is in power.

Puducherry consists of four districts: Pondicherry, Karaikal, Mahe and Yanam. The Legislative Assembly consists of 30 members. Currently the Chief Minister is N. Rangaswamy of AINRC (All India N.R. Congress).
